In early 2014, JAX HVAC was subcontracted by Haskell to provide the installation of an integral air conditioning and chilled water piping system for the CxP Data Center located in Jacksonville, Fla. The project scope included five chilled water Liebert air conditioning units with custom support stands, extended return, and supply plenums for each. This project was particularly challenging because the timeline allotted JAX HVAC only four weeks for the entire project, from start to finish.

CxP required a chilled water piping system that would keep their equipment cool and running efficiently around the clock – and they needed it fast – so JAX HVAC utilized some of the industry’s latest and most innovative technology, Aquatherm pipe. This pipe is specifically engineered for heating and cooling, industrial, geothermal and compressed air applications. It is non-corroding, which helps guard against future potential piping failures and provides better long-term solutions.

Additionally, typical steel pipe can be welded together in a little over an hour. Using the Aquatherm pipe reduced JAX HVAC welding process time to less than 11 minutes for heating and cooling and dropped the weight of the piping to almost an eighth of its traditional steel counterpart.

CxP Data Center opened its 120,000-square-foot facility in February 2014.
